General 

I am a child and adolescent and adult psychiatrist with experience in evaluation and treatment of depression/treatment resistant depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorder, schizophrenia/treatment resistant schizophrenia, PTSD, and Women's health.

 

I am board certified in adult psychiatry. I hold a BS from Brown University in Hispanic Studies where I also earned my medical degree. I completed psychiatry residency at Kaiser Permanente San Jose and child and adolescent fellowship at Charles Drew University.

 

As chief fellow, I worked with the university’s pipeline program to create mental health workshops for children. I have a strong interest in engaging youth in their health through creative approaches.  I enjoy utilizing art and nature as tools for healing and is passionate about promoting mental health awareness in the Latino community, believing in the strength of minoritized communities to support their own healing.

Background 

Growing up in a first generation household of Latino heritage, I deeply understand navigating a life path of two different worlds and the struggles that come with it and am passionate about treating childhood trauma, family systems, bicultural identity and minority stress.
